Meet Suez — Seattle Youth Garden Works

“I know now to advocate for myself and for others.”
— Suez, Seattle Youth Garden Works

Seattle Tilth is very proud to be home to Seattle Youth Garden Works, an urban farm employment training program for underserved young people. Many of these youth are unstably housed or homeless, navigating the juvenile justice system, or facing other incredible challenges. This is their chance to start anew.

Suez has been with Seattle Youth Garden Works for three years. She explains how she has transformed herself through this program and developed professional and life skills.

“When I first started the program, I was really quiet. I didn’t really know that I could share my voice. I know now to advocate for myself and for others.

Make a financial contribution at ANY level to support Suez and others in this program.

Your support is essential to our success! Here are the ways that you can help:

  • $50 provides a healthy snack for the entire farm crew for one week
  • $100 provides a month’s worth of bus tickets for safe travel to and from work
  • $500 provides a new farm sink for washing vegetables and preparing healthy meals
