Falaah Jones has been a member of the Seattle Tilth staff since 2008. A past fixture on the Garden Hotline, she is now responsible for the Seattle Tilth programs at the Pickering Barn learning garden in Issaquah. She hosts children, adults, volunteers and visitors in the garden, often with a chicken under one arm. Falaah got her gardening skills from horticulture classes at Edmonds Community College after a long-time career as a medical technologist. “It is good to be out in the fresh air growing vegetables,” says Falaah as she loads trugs of veggies onto her truck for donation to the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank.
Before joining Seattle Tilth, she ran her own business managing residential landscapes. Come take a walk with her and talk about plants! When not gardening, she mulls over her memoir about growing up on the grounds of Northern State Hospital.
