Tilth Alliance is dedicated to the health and safety of our community, and is actively working to minimize the public health impacts of COVID-19.
In light of Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, and the current prohibition of gatherings of more than 10 people and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) that those restrictions continue through early May, Tilth Alliance has made the decision to move our May Edible Plant Sale online.
We expect to have a plant list and full details of the online sale available in April, for a May 1 launch of sales. Please check the event webpage for the latest updates, and feel free to contact us at email@example.com with any immediate questions or concerns. We’ll still need a number of volunteers to help pull this off – keep an eye out for volunteer shifts in the coming days.
While we are still working on the details, we wanted to be sure you knew that Tilth Alliance remains dedicated to serving your spring gardening needs. We expect to have around 60,000 plant starts from local growers available for sale, with staggered pickup times at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands extending beyond the weekend of May 2-3. A detailed plant list will be made available online prior to the sale, and the Garden Hotline remains available to provide expert advice on your Northwest garden.
The May Edible Plant Sale is an important event for Tilth Alliance, with proceeds supporting the Tilth community’s work with Washington farmers, gardeners and eaters to build a sustainable, healthy and equitable food future. We appreciate your understanding of the need to reimagine the event in a way that prioritizes the health and safety of everyone involved, and hope you’ll continue to patronize the sale given this new format.
