Fight Climate Change by Supporting SB 5947

Senate Bill 5947 is an important piece of legislation that is currently before the Washington State Legislature that takes aim at carbon emissions generated in our agricultural sector.

When passed, Senate Bill 5947 will create the Sustainable Farms and Fields voluntary grant program. This program will support and reward farmers and ranchers who deploy on-farm practices and technologies that store carbon, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve environmental outcomes.

Washington’s agricultural sector is poised to make a significant contribution toward the work of addressing climate change. Senate Bill 5947 will be an important step in this direction. With your support we are confident it will pass but it is important that you demonstrate your support as soon as possible.
