COG Changed My Life

by Kristen Dotson, Comprehensive Organic Gardener class participant, spring 2011

Comprehensive Organic Gardener (COG) changed my life – or I should say it took over my life.

I had always wanted a garden but never lived anywhere long enough to have one. After buying my house in Seattle, I was finally ready, but I had no idea what to do! COG seemed the right choice as it covered everything: soil health, composting, seed starting, pest management, water and fertilizer, even what to do with the garden over the winter. So I took the class and that same summer I was able to raise a thriving delicious garden!

Now two years later I’m growing enough tomatoes to can my own ketchup, starting all of my plants from seed, and helping my co-workers start their own gardens. It’s so bad, I actually had to get a P-Patch so I could keep growing more!

Thank you, COG, for giving me everything I needed to get started!
