The Seattle Community Farm, a project of Solid Ground’s Lettuce Link program, recently started planting its first vegetables — another step in the process of becoming a productive farm which educates, inspires, and increases food security for residents of Southeast Seattle.

Pictures of the vegetable-planting work party in the warm sunshine can be seen on the Lettuce Link blog.

Volunteer work parties at the Seattle Community Farm are Tuesdays 5-8pm, Thursdays 9am-1pm or Saturdays 10am-2pm.  Come join the fun!

And as a reminder… neighbors will be celebrating the farm’s first growing season on June 25th from 12-3PM. There will be delicious food to eat, good stories to tell and hear, and the opportunity to help paint a street mural right next to the farm.  The Seattle Community Farm is located just west of 4015 MLK Way.
