Meat Lasagna Recipe


Makes 6-8 servings


– 3/4 pound ground beef/turkey
– 1 cup onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 3 cups (24oz) tomato sauce
– 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
– 1 head spinach, chopped
– 2 teaspoon dried basil
– 2 teaspoon dried oregano
– 2 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon pepper
– 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
– 6 oz lasagna noodles (6 noodles)
– 1/4 cup parmesan
– 8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded


• Preheat oven to 375° F
• In a pan, cook meat, mushrooms, onion, and garlic until meet is brown and onion is tender.
• Add spinach and stir until wilted.
• Stir in tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
• Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer.
• Let sauce simmer for 30-45 minutes stirring every 5 minutes.
• Add parsley to sauce and stir.
• Pour a thin layer of sauce into a 12”x7” casserole dish.
• Layer noodles to cover the bottom.
• Pour another layer of sauce over the noodles.
• Repeat layers.
• Cover with foil.

For Baking:

• Place lasagna covered with foil into oven for 40 minutes.
• Remove foil and sprinkle cheese evenly over top.
• Put back in oven for another 10 minutes until cheese is all melted.
• Pull lasagna from oven and let rest for 10 minutes.
• Cut and serve while hot and enjoy!
